1912-13

This Painting was created by Kazimir Malevich in Russia in 1912. ̴Ì_He began painting at an early age and created his style of Cubo-Futurism at a time when the industrial revolution was just starting to sweep over the world.̴Ì_ Cubo-Futurism is a combination of the Cubism movement with the Futurists representation of movement.

The Knife Grinder is a fascinating piece which emphasizes the connection between man and machine. It is difficult, without extended viewing, to determine where the man ends and the machine begins.̴Ì_

The original is currently held at the Yale University Art Gallery.
